In 2013 we marked our 10th anniversary, noting with pride the strength and the diversity of our Progressive community. We are especially blessed that we have a number of young children growing up in our congregation. When we watch them celebrate Shabbat and the holidays, we realize anew that our congregation is here not just for us but for them: that Shir Hadash must continue to flourish not just for us, but to enable the newest generation of Jews in Florence to have the opportunity to grow up in a joyful and welcoming and progressive Jewish environment.

Because our resources are limited, your help and support is even more critical to the future of Progressive Judaism in Florence and, indeed, in Italy. We invite you to become "members at a distance" of our congregation. You will be helping to maintain our presence in Florence, where our doors always have been open to visitors and students alike.
